It’s almost Christmas. For once, the semester has been quite relaxing workwise. No development of new classes/curriculum, just pure and simple reuse of old stuff.
The spring semester was different: I ran the elective digital design and content at the multimedia design programme at KEA for the second time.
The elective went reasonably well, and the students worked with a good mix of web design (Bootstrap and WordPress), content creation (copy, photography and videography), SoMe, SEO, SEM and such. It took a lot of time to develop the curriculum and prepare materials for the class, but it was fun, and the students were nice.
One of the exercies, I personally had most fun with during the semester, was to get the students to take portraits of me. The portraits had to show my personality. So I had to act as a model for a week or two.
We worked with different types of portraits (environmental and situational portraits), and had a brief look at lighting, posing and directing the model (slides from the class – danish only). The challenge was to use these elements in order to take a portrait.
I stressed that I wanted something “not perfect.” My visual environment isn’t pure minimalism;-) And I guess I also mentioned I like the color pink.
Anyways: Have a look at the gallery below – the students made a series of nice/interesting/funny portraits:-)
